What is “emotional eating?” It is when an individual eats to satisfy emotional needs rather than to satisfy physical needs and/or over eating that is induced by negative affect or distress.
Emotional eating is not a rare thing. In fact, research has shown that thousands of Americans struggle each day with this disorder and often have trouble with losing weight because of it.
